With all of the snow and clouds lately here in The Netherlands, I've wanted to show you a bright blue neon! This is from the China Glaze Summer Neons collection. It's the only one I've picked out from this collection, and I am happy I did!

My camera did NOT like this colour at all! The colour is a bit more saturated in reallife.

Like any neon, this dries up fairly dull. The swatches are with topcoat. I slapped on 2 coats, and even though IRL you can't see a visible nailline, I did notice it when editing the photos. The formula is a bit on the thick side, but nothing you can't work with.

Since I've known it went on retail here in The Netherlands, I knew I had to get my hands on one! I walked into my local drugstore and I found the last one in stock!
Just looking at all the pretty colours in the bottle makes me almost drool!

I've swatched it onto Illamasqua's Faux Pas, which is an awesome purple with a special "rubber" finish. (I will make another blogpost about this beauty soon). I only put one coat on, and it blew my mind away. Unfortunately, there was no sun out, but I managed to capture a small bit of this beauty.
The swatches honestly don't do this polish justice.
Today I have for you a china glaze polish from the Metro fall collection from 2011. The colour is called Trendsetter and I love it SO much! It's a yellowy mustard and really it is a love it or hate it colour. I also really like the subtle shimmer in it.
At first I didn't think this one would go well with my skintone, but it actually kind of did.
The formula is a-ma-zing, it applied like butter. I slapped on 2 coats.
CoolSo today, finally, the weather is getting a lot better, with a lot of sunshine. And you all know what sunshine means right? Yep, Holo's!
This polish is from Teeez! and this is number 02, Cool, it's a light babyblue colour. I used the Gosh Fix base coat which is especially made for holographic polishes. I've never used this polish without the fix base coat, so I don't really know how application is without. The base coat made application flawless. I used 3 effortless coats of holographic goodness. After that I topped it off with INM out the door topcoat. The topcoat didn't dull the holo-effect in my opinion.
My camera even freaked out with the pictures in direct sunlight, so it couldn't quite capture the full holographic effect. So without further a do, here are the pictures:

Today I wanted to do a konad again, I used plate m65 for the rose design. I really felt like using some fall colours, since all the fall collections are all coming out at the moment. So this is a base of three coats of China Glaze Loft-y Ambitions and I stamped the design on with Chanel Particulière. I really adore both colours. However, when I used my topcoat, I noticed it smudged the design a little bit. That's something I really need to practice on with konading.
I used the leopeard print from plate M57 from Konad. This really is one of my favourite plates!
The base colour I used was OPI's Gouda Gouda Two Shoes and for the stamping I used China Glaze Urban-night. So on to the swatches!

Artificial Light

I really loved this combo! At first I merely thought: Mehh.. But after a couple of hours I found I really liked it. It took some getting used to with the konading, but I'm really gonna do this more often. Have a nice weekend!
If you didn't get your hands on the OMG or Kaleidoscope collections this one will also do.

Close up!

Application is perfect, almost a one-coater, this is two coats though. I would advice to use a basecoat which is for holographic polishes. I used the Gosh Fix basecoat, because of this basecoat the polish dried a little rubbery. I used Seche Vite as a topcoat.

Yesterday I was talking about the new 2011 fall colours from Chanel and I remembered I still had swatches laying around from last years collection! I know this has been swatched soo many times and talked about on blogs A LOT! But I think it's just a beauty. So here it is: Chanel Paradoxal, with that gorgeous purple shimmer!

I had experienced some tipwear already 'cause I was wearing it already for a couple of days, but here it is!Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05324392222835672154noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2746391998587636585.post-63356592549483889802011-06-28T19:21:00.001+02:002011-06-28T19:36:55.930+02:00Essence Hello Holo TopcoatHi everyone,

The weather here is awful right now. It's really hot and humid, hopefully the rain they forcasted will come soon, cause I'm sick of it.
Today I have for you one of the special effect toppers from Essence, which they released a couple of weeks ago. I got myself Mystic Mermaid and Hello Holo. I still want to own Circus Confetti, I love all the different colours of glitter. But for now I have Hello Holo. I finally got it last weekend, it's been sold out since it came out.
You can buy Essence in drugstores (here in the Netherlands at the Kruidvat stores), and these toppers are only 1,80 euros.

So, onto the pictures. Here I have Hello Holo topped over China Glaze Papaya Punch.

I really, really like it. I didn't have any sun out so couldn't capture even half of the holo effect. Application is good, but the glitters aren't really dense on the brush. I have 2 coats on and I still think it's not enough (but maybe that's just because it's so gorgeous.) I did have some tipwear because I was wearing Papaya Punch for a day before applying Hello Holo.

Meanwhile I'm waiting for stores in the Netherlands to release the new fall 2011 Chanel collection. From the swatches I've seen of it already I really want to have a closer look at Peridot and Graphite. They look awesome! Why is it that fall collections always make me want to buy them all! I tend to love fall collections a lot.Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05324392222835672154noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2746391998587636585.post-68264057602286510492011-06-08T21:56:00.000+02:002011-06-08T21:56:18.929+02:00Lemony FlutterHey guys,

I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while, my nails aren't in their best shape and today I broke 2 nails, just because I was in a rush at work. That's also a reason I haven't posted, work is just really time consuming at the moment and I'm really glad when I get home to relax.

So, I wanted to talk to you guys about my FAVOURITE nailcare product, which is Lush' lemony flutter. This stuff is amazing! My cuticles are in perfect condition, and my nails are even getting a lot stronger. They used to tear a lot and they were very brittle.

Like the name says, it's packed with lemons and it's smells like lemon ice-cream. It also had Shea butter, mango butter, lemon oil and even lavender oil. When you get it onto your cuticles and nails the butter melts because of your body temperature. I always rub it in with my pointer finger and thumb and just let it sink in. I does let you have very greasy hands, so I use it before I go to bed.

I'm a person that likes to use large quantities of everything, maybe because I believe it'll work even better then! And I am quite happy to say that you really really only need a small amount of this stuff. I've had my 50 grams since december and I think that I didn't even use up a quarter of what is in the pot. I even think I can't use it all up in a year.

You can buy this product in every Lush store, or on their website, for 9,95 euros. I'll be posting swatches again very soon!Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05324392222835672154noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2746391998587636585.post-92144607761642293552011-05-29T15:39:00.000+02:002011-05-29T15:39:01.694+02:00China Glaze - 108 DegreesHey Guys!

Sorry for not posting these couple of days, but I didn't have any swatchpictures left to post when a couple of my nails teared. They've finally grown back to a reasonable length, but they're still a lot shorter than I would like.
So today I have China Glaze's 108 Degrees for you from the Island Escape summer collection. I can't even tell you how much of a beauty it is. It's a hot pink colour packed with glassflecks. I'm soo glad I bought it! Application was perfect, I only needed 2 coats for it to be opaque, for these pictures I did 3 though. I couldn't quite capture the beauty of it on picture. My camera hated this colour :-(. Also the pictures are a bit blurry, and also put in one with flash.
So here it is for today! Enjoy the rest of your sunday.Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05324392222835672154noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2746391998587636585.post-20776406036940270302011-05-24T20:07:00.000+02:002011-05-24T20:07:15.498+02:00China Glaze - Papaya PunchHi you guys!
Sorry for not posting for a few days, had a busy weekend. I finally got my China Glaze order last friday, and I immediately put on Papaya Punch. It's not really a neon orange, but it's a really in your face creme though. I really like it! It's the perfect summer colour. The formula is a bit thick though, and pretty hard to apply, it streaked a lot.
Sooo here I have the swatches!

Thankfully I took these pictures in the weekend because another nail broke. So I decided to file them all short :(. As soon as they've grown a little I'll swatch 108 degrees ^^.Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05324392222835672154noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2746391998587636585.post-66824432034910015562011-05-18T19:26:00.002+02:002011-05-18T19:33:29.289+02:00Silver Shatter over Herome W.I.C New DelhiHey guys,

Last post I said that I had obtained OPI's Silver Shatter. I couldn't wait to try it out so here I have it today upon Herome's W.I.C New Delhi (which is a gorgeous mintgreen colour). I found that I could handle the silver shatter better than the black shatter, although it doesn't shatter as much as the black one. Still, I'm in love with this. I want to try it out next upon a dark colour (my mom suggested it), can't wait to see how that'll turn out.
So, on to the swatches and my sad little nubbin indexfinger :(. I used a medium thick coat.

Today I also ordered Papaya Punch and 108 degrees from China Glaze's Island Escape collection. So I'll be swatching those soon, hopefully on friday ^^.
Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05324392222835672154noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2746391998587636585.post-54654649734949959912011-05-16T18:53:00.001+02:002011-05-16T18:55:18.352+02:00OPI - DS CoronationHi everyone!
Today I want to show you my favourite polish (that I own XD). It's OPI DS Coronation. I absolutely love this colour. It's a scattered holographic silver. Application was, as always with OPI, superb. I really want to try layering this one. I think it'll look fantastic upon a black polish. Excuse the index finger, my nail broke off today :(, so I have a little nubbin...

My next post will feature OPI Silver Shatter. I found the Silver Shatter at a wellnesscenter last weekend. I was sooo happy with it. I've been lemming it ever since I heard they were going to release it.Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05324392222835672154noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2746391998587636585.post-39004619446647643742011-05-10T20:35:00.001+02:002011-05-10T20:37:18.018+02:00Austin-tatious Turquoise

Hi everyone,

Today I have OPI's Austin-tatious turquoise for you from the Texas Spring Collection (2011). This is a beautiful turqouise with a glass fleck shimmer. If you look closely in the bottle you'll also see a slight pinkish shimmer. On the nail however, that pink shimmer is almost nowhere to be found. I tried to catch it on camera, but I failed at that.
The formula was a bit on the thin side, I needed 4 (!) coats and I can still see a bit of VNL. Application was perfect though, I really love the OPI brush.

As a first post on this blog I'd like to feature Dirty Berry from the new Catrice collection. I had a pretty hard time finding this polish, but last week I finally got my hands on it.
At first glance it may look like an ordinary violet/purple polish, but when in the sun it reveals it's holo-gorgeousness!
